Some expectations for our classroom
|
- Building positive relationships
- Work Stations - Student-led learning activities - Hands on experiences that open the door to discovery - Activities directly related to the children's cultures and surroundings |
Morning Work |
As students enter the classroom, their morning assignment will be posted on the board. This allows students to begin taking responsibility for part of their learning.
Social Studies |
|
The social studies format in our classroom is designed to be very collaborative. It allows students to discover our history first hand. We do a lot of group learning, and teacher facilitation for this subject area.
IS THERE HOMEWORK IN SOCIAL STUDIES? The students and I will discuss our progress on the investigations and WebQuests we are conducting daily. If we feel that more time is needed, we will extend the time that we focus on them in class. Social studies homework will only be assigned if the student has missed an assignment, did not complete the assignment as instructed, or an at home project is assigned. When an at home project is assigned students are provided with a rubric. This rubric provides details on what I am looking for in the student's final product. The rubric is uploaded onto Google Classroom. |
